Features include a precision engineered pittman motor, all metal construction, an operating headlight, bright, baked enamel finish with brass trim, an operating protosmoke system, operates on standard gauge track, a protosound DCRU electronic reverse unit and equipped with protosound featuring squeaking brakes and passenger station sounds by QSI. This locomotive does not include DCS (Digital Command System) features because it has ProtoSound 1.0. Only locomotives with ProtoSound 2.0 and ProtoSound 3.0 include DCS functions.
