The 2-Ounce Incremental Tungsten Cylinder Kit is a compact set of precision tungsten weights designed to add ballast to a derby car. It includes eight pieces: two 1/2-ounce cylinders, two 1/4-ounce cylinders, and four 1/8-ounce cylinders, all 3/8-inch in diameter. Weights install by drilling a 25/64-inch hole in the body at the desired weighting location for easy tuning of weight and balance.
Tungsten’s high density—about 1.7 times that of lead and more than three times that of zinc—lets builders place substantial weight in a small footprint, aiding precise weight distribution and aerodynamic design. These cylinders are produced through a sintering process to achieve very high density and tight size control, and they finish polished for a clean appearance and reliable fit.
